Studio: I 3487 133 rd Lane NW Andover, MN 55304 651-231-1164 josephtheroux.com mnartists.org/joseph_theroux I've been busy painting smaller canvases for 2010, most are landscapes, but there are some wildflowers as well, sizes range from 11x14 to 12x24. I also have two new additions to the "Men From Earth" series. "Reverence", is a meditative piece painted in quiet, misty earth tones depicting field workers hand picking vegetables, 30x40. The title photograph "Men From Earth" turned out so well I was reluctant to attempt a painting for fear that I could never recapture that mood, but I had to try, and I think I have come close with the 24x36 painting. My gratitude goes out to Chuck and Estella owners of Heart of the Valley Farm in Andover where I have been photographing for the past few years Also many thanks to Luis for his kind efforts, I met Luis while he was working in the pumpkin patch some years back, he introduced me to the owners and has helped to schedule my visits and navigate the farm, (he's been effective, I haven't ended up in a drainage ditch yet). I'll be displaying some new photography again this year, I have many more showing on my site than I display so if there is something you would like printed, please let me know. You can preview new paintings and photography on my website josephtheroux.com Jocephus will grace us once again by playing his trumpet and wind instruments out in front. Jo plays regularly on Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis, he's the hardest working Busker in town and a charming and delightful soul. Q: When was the last time you heard a true Busker in the Burbs? A: Never, unless you've come to one of my shows, it's worth the trip just to meet him! I'll also have a guest artist this year which will add a new dimension to the event. I spent a most of my spare time last summer refurbishing the studio area, everything looks fresh and new with better lighting, so stop on by, we look forward to meeting you! |
